When OYE Records and Hauke Freer launched XK vinyl-only project we all knew the releases would be as sparse. True to form, two years later they're back and the wait - as always - has been totally worth it. Reiling takes the lead with a jazz loop that instantly engages and kicks in with an almost Derrick Carter-style oomph as the double bassline does the business. Stunning. Elsewhere Freer lays down the loose slappy bass and slide guitar boogie sleaze before closing the show with a loopy zeppelin-sized sweaty funk fusion finale. Enough funk to last two years and yonder.
