With only a handful of releases to their name, the Strobelight Honey edits imprint has established itself a buy on sight reputation befitting of its affiliation with killer underground house mag Faith. Further establishing a transatlantic network that's taken in contributions from Sheffield's Solid State and Chicago's Jamie:326, Strobelight Honey now turn to Philly based producer Matpat for some illicit basement business. Lead track "Crush" is a deft reworking of a Lil Kim jam, expertly focusing on a snippet of the melody and chopping at it incessantly over a bumping house beat, slipping in vocal chops worthy of the master MK. On the B Side "Satisfy" further demonstrates Matpat's panache for messing with vocals (naggingly familiar in this case) and there is a superb freestyle throwback version from LA based production duo NYCpartyinfo too!
