It would be fair to say that "The Cortina Kidz" has long been a secret weapon for dusty-fingered diggers who enjoy their house deep, strange and left-of-centre. It was originally featured on the B-side of MacDonald Flack & The Ack Pack's one and only 12" release, 1988's "Jack Some Crack" on the forgotten Soho Girl imprint. Here, the original version - an intriguingly spaced-out fusion of early acid house, deep house and industrial style eccentricity - is supplemented by two new remixes. Tim Sweeney and Juan MacLean provide a more acid-heavy deep house version that makes greater use of the original's odd spoken word vocals, before Factory Floor turn it into a high-tempo chunk of dark-room industrial techno.
