Phonica's in-house label heads north of the border once more to secure some more superb electronic music from the Lord Of The Isles. Though nominally falling under the deep house banner, there's always a lot more detail and intrigue in a production from Lord Of The Isles and that is certainly the case with both "Greane" and "Gigha". Both tracks are the Lord in long form mode with 10 minute A Side "Greane" wedged between the dancefloor and a more melancholic place. Live kicks certainly give the track some driving energy but the wonderfully pitch bent synths and bass pulses add a degree of sonic personality (and introspection) that sets the Lord apart from your contemporary deep house chancer. "Gigha" is slightly shorter but captivates from the off thanks to some apparently synthetic string flourishes which eventually give way to a throbbing rhythm that just builds and builds.
