British-German dark wave duo Lebanon Hanover aren't exactly known for emanating positive vibes. Instead, theirs is an aural world that's coated in darkness, moody, muted melodies, seductively aching and brooding vocals, the feeling of moving beyond hopelessness into a place where you just have to embrace the sinister, macabre and somewhat eerie.
All of which goes some way to explaining why we're obsessed with them. These are the hard-to-find tracks from those David Lynch road or bar scenes. The songs that set an atmosphere of unease but also a kind of hidden beauty. The deeper we listen, the more we feel the spectrum of emotion that's caught and bottled inside the tunes. Deceptively complex, surprisingly life affirming.
