In the ever-fertile soil under which innumerable DIY synth pop acts are buried, Laugh Clown Laugh are but the latest to be revived with a lovingly restored LP that never saw the light of day back in the early 80s when the band were originally active. Their sound draws heavily from the likes of The Human League once they started writing songs, with bright and chirpy arpeggios matched to twee English vocals with that unmistakable homespun charm. At the time their music may have been overlooked, but now Laugh Clown Laugh are in just the right time and place to have their work appraised again.
