Almost a year has passed since La Fleur's last outing on Power Plant, so this delayed follow-up is more than welcome. Pleasingly, it's also rather hard to categorize. The title track, in particular, is something of a fusion beast: a chunky peak-time workout that places Lula's trippy, delay-laden spoken word vocal atop an attractive combination of echoing late night melody motifs, thrusting analogue sub-bass and a densely layered, thrillingly percussive rhythm track. The cut's inherent trippy vibe is explored further on Francesca Lombardo's darker, more straightforward remix, before Justin Massei re-casts it as a dreamy, spacey and melodious chunk of Lauer style electronic deep house. Bumpy, bass-heavy bonus cut "Circadian" is also worth a listen.
