Aussie producer Kloke steps up to the far-reaching Styles Upon Styles imprint with a collection of deep and distinctive flavours. His sermon begins with the washy, brushy textures of "Deep City" that chugs lazily with deep house muscle but ambient spirit. "Mayfield", meanwhile, ebbs and flows mournfully over a bed of sad organs. Further on we hit Burialesque muffled anthemia ("Ritual"), we get zoned out by the tripped chops and overlaps of "Room With A View", we step back to the early 80s with the dramatic synthesis of "Flood" and end on a subverted electro high with "Unlearning". Strange and complex yet charming and immersive, Kloke has created something genuinely unique here.
