Here, Gerd Janson and Ejeca offer an answer to an age-old question: how do you remix a stone cold classic? Their various versions of Awesome 3 and Julie McDermott's 1992 hardcore anthem "Don't Go" (whose iconic vocal remains instantly recognizable 26 years on) are relatively reverential, utilizing almost all of the original version's key ingredients (rave stabs, bustling breakbeats and one of the rave era's bounciest piano riffs). Janson's "Remix" and "VIP" dub versions operate at a slightly slower tempo to suit house dancefloors, but retain the energy and rush-inducing bliss associated with the Awesome 3 cut. Ejeca takes a different approach, slamming down a stomping four-to-the-floor take rich in mind-altering stabs, MK style cut-up vocals and heavy percussive build-ups.
