Built out of edited and reworked improvised studio jams - many made during the pandemic - My Brain's Brain is a pleasingly trippy, hard-to-pigeonhole affair that sees the Amsterdam-based performer and producer mix and match elements of ambient, dystopian electronic jazz, electro, techno, IDM, intergalactic deep house and hypnotic haziness into far-sighted, off-beat sonic shapes. There are naturally dancefloor moments, but it's much more than that: an unusual, off-kilter and psychedelic electronic opus that frequently swings between trippy oddness and immersive, meditative beauty.
