Deep Distance's relationship with Jonas Reinhardt feels like a match made in heaven, a wave of cold synths that filter down ever so well with the rest of this shining, ever-surprising catalogue. Conclave Surge is a behemoth of an LP, travelling at a sub-zero pace thanks to mounds of chilling synthesizer sounds wrapped under a warm coating of analogue fuzz. Like a story, or far-reaching voyage, this album develops and unfolds, slowing and speeding up with each new turn of the page. There's a palpable aura at its core, and it only gets better as new sounds enter the forbidden palace that is Reinhardt's creative guise. Wonderful.
