Coming fresh out of the stocks with a sound perfectly suited to Underground Quality, Jaysun Merced is clearly on a mission to get deep within the remit of house music, and he's clearly speaking label boss Jus Ed's language. "Text" is stark in its arrangement, with a thumping rhythm section, clear-as-day piano noodling and a rousing synth stab to get grins appearing everywhere. "Chasing You Again" is a more subtle proposition, with hushed drums and a nagging key refrain that simply works over and over until full hypnosis is reached. There's plenty of space to roam atop the poised bassline in "FPV" until the shimmying beat drops into a broken celebration, whereas "No Soul Button" heads into a minimal mindset loaded with atmospheric reverbs and unresolved dub-fuelled tension.
