Tobias Freund's Non Standard Productions, a label that has featured such talent as Max Loderbauer and Margaret Dygas, among other contemporary minimalists, launches new artist Javiera Gonzalez onto the scene. Voicing Freund's own rhythmic, free-form blends of beats and bleeps, Meet Me Twice is more of an electronically minded pop album rather than a techno LP. Gonzalez's suffering swarms of vocal melancholia are a perfect fit around Freund's sparse drum machines, however, and together the pair have produced a veritable 'listening' album, a collection of songs which sound like they could be verging towards the dancefloor - check "Meet Me Twice" itself - but never quite make it, instead opting to go for the couch and mong out in all their glory.
