The Khasia Hills label is the brainchild of graphic designer Morningradient, and a quartet of producers - all of whom contribute tracks to this debut release. The imprint was inspired, they claim, by the Khasi Hills in Eastern India, which apparently boasts some particularly fine palm trees. Musically, there's much to set the pulse racing throughout, from the MPC style deep house grooves and twinkling melodies of Real D's "Reality", to the revivalist Italian dream house positivity of Kerstone's "Ostone", and the clattering drum machine hits and rubbery synth bass of Jam For Real's "Raw Joints". Arguably best of all, though is the humid, ultra-deep shuffle of Jus Jam's impeccable "Inherent Vice".
