TV Showw is a new record label from Paris. They are very proud to launch the label with an EP from one of Chicago's most prolific and inventive electronic musicians: Jamal Moss a.k.a. Hieroglyphic Being. Jai/Mahl is his fresh new alias especially created for this EP. The three tracks are made for the dancefloor while not diluting his signature oddity made of sonic textures and damaged rhythms. Moss calls his style 'synth expressionism' or 'rhythmic cubism.' It starts off on the A side with the soulful and melodic techno of "The Teachers Within" which once again shows off Moss' immaculate programming skills and otherworldly sounds he conjures from those analogue machines. The following track "Same Beings, Same Experiences, Same Worlds" is more typical of Moss; what with those syncopated rhythms, hypnotic bleeps and evocative vintage synth sounds. Finally on the flip is "Zipf", a deep and spiritual slow burning groove reaching neat tribal moments. More quality as always from one of Chicago's most singular talents.
