Jacques 'do no wrong' Renault steps away from his Let's Play House imprint for a second and delivers two contrasting originals for Eugene's Public Release imprint. "Silver Machines" is a rampant, filtered disco strutter underpinned with a near-techno-like attitude in its groove momentum. The awesomely titled "Fromage A Trois" is a muddier, almost Nordic sounding dubby disco jaunt-fest that's peppered with an array of precision designed sounds and ideas. Remix-wise Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold strip "Silver Machines" down to the bare bones and add a much sleazier sense of soul to the groove. Force Of Nature, meanwhile, adds a measured sense of cosmicicty to "Fromage A Trois". Renault may call his machines silver, we reckon they're platinum.
