Review

Ipa-Boogie's self-titled 1978 record is hard to find indeed. If you do unearth a copy, it will set you back answer for 500 to L1000 for even an average quality copy. A real Afro-boogie and Afro-funk gem that has been served well by the passage of time, this fully licensed reissue from Acid Jazz has been transferred from the original tapes and remastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Frank Merritt at The Carvery, and is sure to bring the band to a whole new generation of ears. The Benin group deserve it, too, because as well as being historically important, this record sounds great.
