|6.||"House Of Glass"|
Toronto's Holy Fuck has been going through some hard times of late, with the ironically titled Congrats marking their first album for some six years. Having left Young Turks some years back, they return on hometown label Last Gang. Musically, their distinctive blueprint - trippy, rolling, loop-sounding grooves made with guitars, drums, bass and occasional synths, rather than computers and electronic hardware - remains intact, resulting in a set that's heavy, fun, and hugely danceable. They're arguably at their finest when pushing their amps into the red - see "Xed Eyes" and the rather bonkers "House of Glass" - but the album's occasional calmer moments are pretty damn good, too.
