On his second Bordello a Parigi outing, Minimal Rome boss Heinrich Dressel has opened up the doors to his "analogue forest" (that's not a euphemism, by the way) and has invited us to get "Lost in the Woodland". It's an invitation worth taking, because there's much to enjoy throughout. Rich in throbbing analogue synthesizers, pulsating cosmic grooves, John Carpenter style melodic themes, Nacho Patrol-esque Afro-chug and sparkling, deep space instrumental synth-pop, it's an album that gleefully sidesteps convention in pursuit of ear-catching electronic gold. It achieves that, of course, and then some. Hacking through electronic undergrowth has never been so much fun.
