It's been two years since Barnt put out his first record on his own Magazine imprint, and his foundation in experimental techno lends itself well to his depiction of mesmerising house. "Hark" has a deep, organic sound built around a powerful bass line and tribal percussion. The track breaks off into two operatic textures, slotting against each other like perfect lovers, while a playful lead line makes up this menage a trois. Vakula moulds "Hark" into a cinematic representation of the original, showcasing the interesting and atmospheric house he is known for. "Forever" delivers more spectacular soundtrack material, layers of sound built expertly, invoking a vivid picture in the mind.
