Review

More from man of mystery Guy Incognito, a producer who's chosen alias is borrowed from an obscure character in the Simpsons. This 12" is marked out by his use of distorted, redlined vocal samples, snappy beats and some of the dreamiest pads and synthesizer melodies known to man, woman or beast. We're particularly taken by the snappy, snare heavy drums, echoing male vocal samples and dewy-eyed pads of A-side "I Think You In My Life", though the cosmic trip that is "Swept Under" - all tough, locked-in beats, tipsy elongated chords and whispered spoken word vocals - pushes it close. As for "The Epic Comedown", it's a far more pleasant, deep and life-affirming experience than the title suggests (helped in no small part by the presence of what sounds like sampled Nina Simone vocals).
