The long awaited third edition of Swiss imprint and party brand Mdrnty comes courtesy of Quebecois minimal veteran Guillaume Coutu Dumont, following up fine editions by Richard Wolfsdorf aka Ricardo Villalobos and Visionquest's Ryan Crosson. Coutu Dumont has kept a fairly low profile in the last few years, but came back with a vengeance in 2018 on his local imprint Musique Risquee - and much like that release we see him pursue a much deeper and contemplative side. But rest assured it doesn't take itself too seriously, as per usual. From the hypnotic A side cut "Modern Sublime" awash in filtered disco loops, funky bass and assorted analogue blips and blurps. On the flip, we have subtle yet rolling deepness of "Landing" a hypnotic cut that's perfect for a Romanian afterhours session - it also gets a groovy and uptempo remix next by Ernesto Ferreyra of Cadenza fame.
