Having ended 2015 as one of electronic music's most hyped labels, Acting Press has a lot to live up to. Perhaps it's just as well, then, that their first 12" of 2016 is a joint venture between PLO Man, Hashman Deejay, and Attitudes In Error's C3Dee, under the previously unseen Globex alias. As you might expect, the A-side boasts numerous sly references to classic ambient house and intelligent techno material, with spacey pads, intergalactic electronics and stretched-out chords riding a classic US deep house groove. The esteemed trio moves a little closer towards vintage Detroit techno territory on the flip, with hissing cymbals, jaunty bass and thumping kick-drums underpinning their usual head-in-the-clouds electronics.
