It's been a while since Hotflush and Aus regular George Fitzgerald released anything. He's not been slacking, though - as his hectic schedule of DJ gigs would tend to confirm - and here delivers his debut album for Domino offshoot Double Six. Cleverly combining elements of his usual bass-heavy, tech-tinged house and techno sound with woozy electronics, atmospheric vocals, spine-tingling melodies and bags of fluid aural textures, Fading Love was apparently inspired by the disintegration of a relationship. It's perhaps unsurprising, then, that it feels melancholy, with even the album's most up-tempo moments coming cloaked in a bittersweet aura.
