Legendary techno and electro duo Frak jump up on Madrid's newest label, the enigmatically named Femur. This is great news for us - and you - because we still believe that these two make just about the best, and rawest, dance music available over the shop counter, and we're endlessly fascinated by their altruistic take on the perennially pleasing 4/4 formula. In fact, it would be fair to say that "Span Clarity" spreads much further than the inevitable four-to-the-floor, and we're faced with a classic slice of rolling Frak-funk, driven by harsh snare drums and wonky analogue melodies. The B-side kicks off the moodier, more menacing hooks and bass stabs of the Detroitian "Cromos Faction", a killer of a tune that melts effortlessly into the bleeps and gargles of the utterly nutty groove named "Imagined Rash". Rough, effective and bound to destroy the floor...
