Under the curation of Aaron Siegel, the Fit Sound label has craftily aligned with FXHE and Wild Oats in repping Detroit and beyond. Inaugurated by Marcellus Pittman, FIT has featured an ongoing Walt J awareness programme as well as issuing must grip material from Andres, Shake Shakir, Marcuss Mixx, Dungeon Acid and Patrik Sjeren. Siegel's own productions surface less frequently, but collaborations with Kassem Mosse and Omar S have shown him to be eminently capable behind the buttons, and this is demonstrated by the bucketload on this latest two track Fit transmission. There's so many emotions evoked as "Cocomo" unfurls; emotion entrenched in the opening bars as a vibraphone loop is joined by an assured string line, stately piano and finally, a jacking snare and the track finds itself rippling with colour and life in full flow. A B Side beatless version only serves to magnify the emotive qualities of the arrangement, ensuring it's a perfect intro track for mixtape makers everywhere. "Seedbed" finds Siegel banging his acid boxes in a refreshing manner, with space and depth between the lines of compound acid.
