There's scant information to be found online about the producer (or producers) behind the Fake Love project. So what's on offer? Well, the A-side is a sleazy, tongue-in-cheek affair. It appears to be a re-edit of an obscure European disco tune that wraps breathy vocals, spacey electronics and raw Italo-disco touches around a Moroder style bassline eerily reminiscent of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love". It's curious and eccentric, but also really rather good. Turn to the flipside for more sci-fi, Euro-disco action, where fizzing, stargazing synthesizer motifs and bustling drum fills ride another heavy arpeggio-style groove. Muscular and leather-bound, it sounds like the sort of obscurity you'd hear at Cocktail D'Amore's legendary Berlin parties.
