FTP001 marks the debut of a freshly minted label, FrieTanzPlatten. There's little other info to impart, so we'll head straight onto the music, which is gleefully eccentric and wonderfully hard to pin down. There are references to classic jungle and hardcore material all over the place - see the Vincent Price-sampling, dubwise movements of Edward Mudwasser's brilliant "Shivers (DJ Normal 4 & 4 Boom Hombre Lobo Mix)", or the rush-inducing rave revivalism of Son Of A Loop's "TnJ Loop" - but also a range of tracks that stick two fingers up at convention. Check, for example, the deep space explorations of Mood Ring's "Where R U Now", which surprisingly features a very weary male vocal, and the wayward acid madness of DJ Groov's "Energy Ensemble".
