All praise Light Sounds Dark! Having already trawled through the archives of primitive electronics from the likes of CH BB, Dementia Precox, Hypnobeat and various other obscure acts for the excellent Dark Matters Too compilation and then essentially documented a later stage of the same sonic approach with Mutant Beat Dance's brand of music from beyond the quantum holograph by, LSD now turn their attention to Japan with this reissue of the debut LP from Tokyo trio Earthling. Apparently formed of a textile designing couple called John & Yoko and synth playing pal Jin Haijama, Earthling's take on the synth sound sits at the poppy end but is drenched in the kind of endearingly lo fi crud that's undoubtedly come from some cheap recording methods. Originally released in 1981, the eight track Dance is undoubtedly one of the most curious records to surface this week and you'd expect no less from Light Sounds Dark.
