The latest offering on Los Angeles-based ambient label A Strangely Isolated Place sees the return of Earth House Hold, an alias of American producer Brock Van Wey - who some may know for his idiosyncratic style of deep techno as bvdub. Said to be influenced by deep house from the early '90s, Van Wey skillfully deconstructs the genre into an ambient format on Daybreak Basements and Broken Hearts, all the while creating a reflective and insightful aesthetic that has been a constant in his work. Described as a 'raw, dirty and somehow deeper take on the sound that Brock grew up with many years ago' it is interpreted in his typically cavernous, glacial and isolated sonic view, and incorporates his own vocals throughout to dramatic effect.
