Durian Brother Florian Meyer aka Don't DJ has been stepping out away from the Diskant fold with increased regularity of late, with Berceuse Heroique one willing recipient of his strange, seductive percussive shapes. SEXES is a label Meyer is himself involved in, and some fresh Don't DJ material features on this second release. As a label, SEXES "seeks to map the relations between identity and power. Culture is the medium in which humankind communicates with itself". The four polyrhythmic explorations in traditional Oriental style music explored via minimalist and cyclical forms induce some blissful trance states, much like his work on the last couple of editions of Emotional Response's Schleissen series which were sourced from his Diskant days in Dusseldorf. Highly recommended.
