To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original release of the Beach Boys 1966 classic album, 'Pet Sounds', Houston Party Records presents 'Do It Again: A Tribute To Pet Sounds'. The album features exclusive cover versions by some of the cream of the underground, including Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy/Palace) and his brothers Paul and Ned, Patrick Wolf, Vic Chesnutt, Micah P Hinson, Daniel Johnston and Architecture In Helsinki. The album liner notes are written by leading Beach Boys expert and author of 'Look, Listen, Vibrate, Smile' and 'Smile: The Story of Brian Wilson's Lost Masterpiece', Domenic Priore. If there are three titles you will always see at the top of those 'best records ever' lists, the Beach Boys 1966 'Pet Sounds' album is one of them. On 'Do It Again: A Tribute To Pet Sounds' there are renditions that chase the footsteps of the original versions, but from a sort of parallel roads, while others break the mould directly. The sum of different personalities provides a sense of constant surprise: just imagine Will Oldham and Patrick Wolf in the same record, or Nobody and Daniel Johnston.
