This year it feels like the Ann Arbor-based producer is actively spreading his wings with a series of 12"s on labels further afield with this latest for pan European outfit Shaddock following releases on Desire, One Electric and Ansatz. Zone 4 effectively demonstrates what a versatile producer Cantu is now, offering sprawling hi tech soundscapes ("Point Of Fracture"), downbeat electronic introspection rich in musicality ("Psychotronics") freeform star gazing techno (release highlight "STS - 115") and bugged out acid jakbeat in "Zone 4" which we think a lot of DJs will gravitate towards.
