Forgetting EP vinyl

After an undeniably noticeable period of inactivity on the production front, Felix Manuel resurfaced in surprising fashion earlier this year with a killer split 12" with the unknown Struction on the Zenker Brothers-run Ilian Tape. It seems like this was the signal for plenty more from Djrum as he now returns to a more familiar home in 2nd Drop for the first in a trilogy of 12" releases. The four-track Forgetting EP is set to be followed by the LA EP and Space Race EP in the ensuing months and see Manuel move confidently across downtempo melancholy and peppy D&B-esque workouts to everything inbetween. The four tracks here set the bar high for the series, with the title cut finding Djrum trying his hand at instrumental grime - fans of Mr Mitch's 2014 LP will like this - whilst the emotive "Projection" and closer "Forgetting Coda" both offer the producer a chance to show off his years of experience playing jazz piano. Inbetween "Induction" rolls on a oh-so intricate 160bpm patter and is a highlight of a superb 12".
