2015 has been a vintage one for fans of Drexciya associate DJ Stingray. The Detroit DJ has already delivered killer EPs for Bleep43 and Lower Parts, and here rounds off the year with another collection of alien funk smashers for Croatia's Barba imprint. "Communications System" is classic Detroit electro, with ocean-deep pads and intergalactic electronics wrapping themselves around sub-heavy bass pulses and tough, body-poppin' beats. The speedy "Lurker" serves up throbbing synth bass and alien synths, before Stingray calms things down a little with the classic Motor City melodies and beatbox grooves of "IP Ping". Finally, UK techno veteran Aubrey gives "Communications System" a thumping 4/4 makeover.
