The new label InStereo Recordings comes courtesy of DJ Dan, a US heavyweight who has been in the game since the 90s. While InStereo has existed in digital form for some time, this new incarnation of the label brings Dan's full-fat sound to vinyl, and it kicks off in style with an instantly recognisable, purple tinted edit of a perennial dancefloor funk classic entitled "Squissh." This is an unreservedly big room record, as "In Your Area" also ably demonstrates with its immaculately produced hooks and punchy rhythm section. Dan teams up with Ido on "That Sound," whipping up a disco-funk influenced frenzy, and then he tackles Scotty Boy's silky smooth "Hey Mr DJ" and turns it into a peak time belter.
