Review

The Blackest Ever Black posse make an interesting foray into the ever booming soundtrack market with this issue of aptly grim source material. The Red Riding television series followed a range of grisly characters and scenarios around Yorkshire in the 70s and 80s, set to a backdrop of serial killings. Celebrated violinist and composer Dickon Hinchcliffe's score to accompany the second part of the trilogy is an engrossing one, as haunting and immersive as the subject undoubtedly demands. From chilling incidentals to lighter intervals the music is never anything less than breathtaking, and undoubtedly deserves this standalone release.
