While largely overlooked, Andreas Kruger is one of German techno's longest-serving producers, having released his first EP way back in 1993. Since then, his sound has shifted incessantly, moving between loopy, hypnotic, floor-friendly bumpers and warm, more melodic, heavily electronic fare that joins the dots between contemporary tech-house, sparse Germanic techno and hypnotic deep house. Morgenland, his tenth full-length, sits at the more warm, melodic and electronic end of the techno spectrum, delivering dreamy grooves ("Fata Morgana"), Kollektiv Turnstrasse-ish organic-electronic blends (the string-laden "Tanz Der Schlaraffen") and jaunty, upbeat anthems (the hip-wigglin' "Himmel").
