The fourth album by this Staten Island troupe sees them vaulting to new heights in their odd and skilful brand of widescreen indie rock - whilst it might be easy to place it somewhere in the hinterland between Modest Mouse style eccentricity and Brand New-esque angst, here producer John Congleton helps the band achieve a broad, expansive sweep of sound - the end-credits euphoria of '80s Springsteen and Cure is audible herein, yet it's sparked off by elegant songwriting acumen and Joseph D'Agostino's emotive voice, the result a timeless and engaging blast of heart-wringing spendour.
