Tech-noise specialists, Russell Haswell and Philip Best, return to their Consumer Electronics project after 2009's filthy affair, 'Crowd Pleaser'. This is power electronics at its hardest, if we ever heard it, and the duo have been important pioneers in blending the lines between the dancefloor and the totally abstract. "Teknon" sets the scene nicely thanks to a splat of obscenities among odd bursts of synth drums, and the rage continues onto pretty much the rest of the LP. "Sex Offender Boyfried" is another winner, where cavernous walls of noise engulf the metallic percussion in its depths, while "Co-Opted" could actually be played in a club thanks to its 4/4 kicks and relatively more rigid pattern. Of course, it will take only the more open minded out there to accept the LP's complete insanity. 180gm vinyl pressing with a bonus CD thrown in for good measure. Sick.
