Neurofunk icons Cause 4 Concern come through with a classy looking twelve for the Berlin imprint Shadybrain that's been a mainstay in the sets of Rockwell and D Bridge. It's a pleasant surprise too, as "Males Me Wonder" eschews the chance for dancefloor business in favour of something quite deep and melodic. Clever usage of vocodered vocals means they form an integral part of the rhythm along with the shuffling percussion and haunting melodies. On the flip "Chameleon" plunges further into spectral dynamics, as ghostly cries dovetail to good effect with chilling organ fills - though it's the slightly damp sounding rhythms that really impress.
