German duo Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger return with a new Booka Shade LP, their first since 2010's More and their first on a label other than the Get Physical operation they are no longer involved in. Whilst there's been enough Booka Shade releases on Blaufield Music to ensure Eve isn't quite 'end of an era, start of a new one' it still feels a bit odd to see a Booka LP on a label other than the Berlin behemoth. Some twelve tracks long, Eve was apparently conceived with Kammermeier and Merziger experiencing a palpable degree of inner turmoil - apparently the pair almost split midway through - yet if there's a sense of melancholy here it only adds to the signature Booka Shade sound which veers through tempos with the sort of production expertise you'd expect from the pair. Look out for some tromboning from Andy 'Groove Armada' Cato along with guest appearances from two Fritz's, the icon that is Kalkbrenner and Azari & III member Helder.
