Over the past few months the anonymous Blacknecks outfit have put their own stamp on the hardened industrial techno sounds currently sweeping the globe, delivering two strong EPs of tough rhythms and distorted basslines. This third 12" from the project sees something a little less po-faced, especially on opening track "Fash", whose arpeggiated bassline and simplistic melody comes across like classic '80s synth wave put through a threshing machine. "Four Cunts and a Badge" might be heavier, but still maintains that tongue in cheek tone, as its searing synth lines sound like they've purposely been pushed to the limit for an almost comic effect. "Same Old Brand New You" is perhaps the straightest track here with its solid 4/4 march, but its wiry percussion and white noise breakdown sounds like an android in its death throes.
