Bahama Soul Club are a Portuguese supergroup whose unique blend of jazz, bossa nova, and African-Caribbean influences has firmly put them on the map, not least also owing to their crisp contemporary production; throughout history, these genres have rarely been given such polish or treatment as we hear here on Sundub Society. Inspired by the blissful energies of the sun-drenched coast - and the multicultural verve of tattooed wave riders, spiritual seekers, rainbow healers, mystic maidens and dreadlocked beauties - the LP hears the essence of Portugal's Algarve region captured and bottled in 12-track LP form.
