After the most recent Audion single dropped last year, Spectral Sound have commissioned a host of top-drawer remixers to tackle Matthew Dear's alias for a devoutly modern approach to his tricky minimal style. Daniel Avery takes on "Sky" with a full-bodied analogue approach that melds his trademark emotive tones into a popping and sizzling version draped in ethereal elegance. Scuba meanwhile drops a taut and restrained version of the same track that plies a powerful bass note and some tumbling percussion. On the flip Matrixxman delivers two different version of "Motormouth" that respectively deal in chunky cyclical rhythms and trickier bleepy fare that do full justice to the original material.
