Review

Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai served up his self titled debut in 1972 and many of the tunes will be familiar with people who have dance to a set by the likes of Floating Points in recent times. Before this record, Verocai had been producing for musicians such as Elis Regina, Jorge Ben, and Ivan Lins. Though the record wasn't a huge success the time, over the years it has grown to become a hugely appreciated work of folk, Latin, jazz and funk, with Arthur's smooth vocals soaring above mellifluous grooves. Original copies are hugely sought after, so snap this up while you can.
