Chicago's underground house hero and Vanguard Sound main man Amir Alexander appears next up on Windy City imprint Argot with The Butterfly EP, which is quite impressive we must say. A side track "Butterfly (The Monarch)" is one of those dark dancefloor drama tracks in the vein of legends like Carl Craig with its stern and cynical monologue backed by a brooding composition. Things get a bit fiercer on "Black Mass" though: this is dark and emotive techno soul done properly. On the flip it's also worth mentioning "Many False Prophets" equally as emotional and bittersweet where swirling and hypnotic pads distract you from an incredibly fierce 909 drum machine workout. Wicked stuff!
