Tom Trago continues to channel the speaker wobbles of nearby Trouw on the latest edition of his 26 track Alfabet project done in conjunction with Rednose Distrikt's Steven de Peven. Much like A/B the debut Alfabet release, the focus here is on dusted body music that pays homage to the home of house - Chicago! This is clearly most apparent on "Chicago Thank You" with a deliciously off kilter thump the centre piece to a rising groove of frosted textures and hushed vocal urges which builds towards a mid point swerve into key heavy funk. Demonstrating the project is all about variety, the flip brings the urgent drama of "Waus Music" with the familiar 'house music all night long' refrain submerged deep in an epic 10 minute arrangement primed for the darker, dingier, sweatier basement spaces out there. Just wait for those raw kicks to surface. Big tip!
