Amenthia Recordings founder Agonis has largely impressed since making his debut at the tail end of 2015. It's likely that this third 12" will also be well received. Opener "Visionquest (1)" is not, as some may assume, a nod to the stripy t-shirt sporting label of the same name, but rather a deliciously melodious and ear-pleasing fusion of cascading IDM melody lines, breakbeat-driven intelligent techno grooves, and sumptuously colourful chord sequences. "Visionquest (II)" takes an almost opposite approach - think dark, locked-in, early morning techno chug - while "Food Tool" is a ragged and pulsating fusion of dense beats, ricocheting electronics, and gnarly lead lines.
