  4. Data Re Entry
  5. Hoggur
  6. Snert Horpu Mina
Review: X/OZ is a new force in Icelandic techno started by Exos, and following a sterling various artists release the label welcomes its masters in collaboration with Ohm, and the results are magnificent. "Thrir" opens the record up with typically Scandinavian drones and reduced grooves, while "Frodari" takes a more intimate approach further expanded upon by the additional ambient take of the track. "Data Re Entry" wriggles a cheeky acid line into the smoky mood on the B side, while "Hoggur" expounds the merits of utterly reduced, creepy-as-hell techno before the final ambient shimmers of "Snert Horpu Mina".

  4. Saltu Numero 29-47 (4:17)
  5. Chango (Maya Nidam remix) (5:27)
Review: Following a recent visit to Columbia, rising Icelandic techno artist Exos connected with Gotshell and the pair joined forces for this trip into the truly transcendental end of the techno spectrum. There's a consistent approach this trans-continental pairing have taken, rolling out cyclical, densely packed rhythms whose delicate configuration masks a hefty low end, guaranteeing full meditative immersion. Folded into the mix are all kinds of smoky textures and distant pads feeding into an air of mystery and exploration - just the kind of eyes-closed techno you would expect to hear from the likes of Donato Dozzy or Neel. Maya Nidam then comes on board for a remix that continues the subliminal theme to great effect.

Review: X/OZ is proud to announce our newest addition to the family: Waage. Waage exploded onto the scene in 2017 with his debut release W which was critically acclaimed and sat on top of the Juno techno charts for two months before selling out. The EP was also selected as one of Juno's techno releases of the year. Now he's back with W2, a continuation of the W series. A rhythmic, haunting, yet danceable piece and a worthy continuation to his celebrated debut.

  1. One Weak Light (5:25)
  2. Existence Is Weird (5:38)
  3. Very Long Daydream (3:33)
  4. Fine-Tuning Problems (5:44)
  5. Getting Closer To An Unknown Goal (7:53)
Review: Icelandic techno veteran Yagya enjoys a release on X/OZ that celebrates both new and old material. The tempo is noticeably ramped up on "One Weak Light" but never at the expense of that dark and mysterious Icelandic hue. "Existence Is Weird" is no slouch either, but Yagya shapes out his atmospheres with such a refined touch that you barely notice how quick the tracks are running. "A Very Long Daydream" is a gorgeous ambient track dug out of the archives, while "Getting Closer To An Unknown Goal" sees the re-release of a track Yagya released as Rhythm Of Snow back in 1999.

Techno
  1. Confusion
  2. Pluton
  3. Curtains
  4. Trans Siberian Express
  5. Brooklyn Train (Exos remix)
Review: Exos' label X/OZ continues to grow as a distinct voice in the world of minimal techno, this time around inviting Russian producer Nikita Zabelin to explore his sound with a sizable EP of finely crafted techno and thought-provoking ambience. "Confusion" is a consummate slice of hypnotic techno crackling with heavily processed energy, while "Pluton" drifts into rich beatless territory. There's more experimental fare afoot with the fractured tumbles of "Curtains", but "Trans Siberian Express" is on hand to lock things back into a sturdy rhythmic framework. Exos also takes the time to remix "Brooklyn Train" into a noirish dub techno workout.
